<div class="full_description">The Ultimate Intake System for the 4.0T EA825 V8 SUV Engine is Here! Our 4.0T EA825 V8 Intake System for SUV models provides an OEM+ appearance upgrade with a single-body carbon fiber intake plenum in a gorgeous matte forged carbon finish that flows up to 22% more than stock. Enhanced turbocharger inlets feature bell mouth profile into the factory turbocharger to promote flow and allow for easily upgrading turbos in the future. The system features a proprietary performance intake filter with a high flow cotton gauze filtration material and flow-bench optimized design that enhances airflow through the system and into the intake plenum. The filter flows up to 12% more than stock and sees reduced pressure drop at the same flow rates. This puts less strain on the turbochargers, and maximizes performance, all while sharpening throttle and turbocharger response. This is the ultimate intake for the 4.0T EA825 V8 engine! The Design The 4.0T SUV&#8217;s engine bay design is tight. The factory utilizes a dual inlet design that feeds into an airbox placed under the intake filter cover which feeds into a multi part turbocharger plenum. Airflow is directed 180 degrees into turbo inlet adapters and into both turbochargers. The intake filter was optimized on the flow bench to provide the maximum amount of flow while utilizing a filter media that provided adequate filtration and extended filter life. Through several design revisions verified on the flow bench, we increased CFM by up to 12% over stock! The overall shape and design of the filter looks similar to the factory unit, due to its location, but internally features several enhancements to provide increased airflow beyond changing filter media alone. Next the turbocharger plenum was upgraded. The factory plenum is tiny and features a flow restricting split-body design. We did away with this and made ours a large and organically shaped single-body design to promote airflow. Carbon fiber was used not only because it looks great, but it allows for thin walls and complex geometry to maximize cross sectional area. This aids in airflow and reduces pressure drop. The plenum is dramatically larger than the factory unit in various areas and is a single-piece design that extends past the integrated PCV and EVAP bungs, and runs all the way down to new billet aluminum high flow turbocharger inlets. The billet aluminum turbocharger inlets feature bell mouth profile to promote airflow. If upgrading to larger turbochargers, the inlets can be modified or replaced to match the compressor cover on the new turbochargers. Furthermore, this system integrates PCV and EVAP bungs for a smooth install. New EVAP jet pumps were created and supplied for proper emission controls. All of these improvements result in an upgrade that&#8217;s worthy to grace the 4.0T&#8217;s engine bay. The intake system lets the engine breathe more freely to maximize performance and gives a subtle but enhanced engine note that&#8217;s sure to delight the discerning ear! Go APR!</div>

We&#8217;ve maximized performance and sound dramatically by reducing pressure drop and increasing airflow. This translates to more horsepower and torque, and less physical strain on the turbocharger. The system looks great, sounds amazing, and produces more horsepower and torque you can feel. Our Open PEX Intake System does away with the closed airbox design and uses a massive 7&#8243; washable and reusable cotton filter with a frontal inlet and 4&#8243; rear outlet. This was necessary to limit pressure drop across the factory system and maximize airflow, while allowing you to fully hear the engine breathe. The massive filter provides excellent filtration. By oversizing the filter, we&#8217;re able to limit pressure drop without sacrificing filtration. This is made possible through the use of greatly increased filter surface area. The PEX material gives the intake an Oem feel and it allows us to make a complex and organic heat shield shape that keeps hot air pushed through the frontal radiator away from the intake tract. Lastly, PEX retains heat less than other materials such as metal, making it ideal for performance.</div>

<h2 class="title">Flow Bench and Power Testing</h2>
<p>The factory intake system simply can’t match the performance of our intake system. The full factory frontal airbox only flows 521 CFM at 28” of H2O. We improved this by 60% with our open airbox, which flows 833 CFM by comparison! However, it’s important to always look at the intake system as a whole as flow numbers alone don’t always speak to the broader picture. The factory turbocharger can only flow just under 400 CFM through the factory opening, and any intake system will lessen maximum flow. The goal is to minimize all restrictions before the turbocharger as much as possible to maximize performance. The full factory system brings this down to 275 CFM, or 31% less. The full APR System (Open airbox, rear pipe, and turbo inlet pipe), bring this down to 345 CFM, which is only 13% less, or a 25% improvement over stock! This directly translates to more power you can feel. Our full bolt on APR Tuned S3 saw max gains of 12 AWHP and 13 AWFT-LBS of torque using the full intake system compared to stock! These are solid gains that make a noticeable difference in performance!</p>

<p>The APR intake system features dual frontal inlets which feed to a large airbox. This provides full frontal coverage of all inlets. Air feeds into the airbox, which comes as an open system for maximum flow and sound, but with various optional covers making the system a closed airbox design if you so choose. The covers simply snaps into place without any tools making install and removal simple. Within the airbox is our custom cotton gauze filter. It features a high flow filter material that provides exceptional filtration with very low pressure drop and restriction due to the filters large surface area and an additional frontal inlet scoop.</p>

<p>The filter attaches to the airbox and leads directly into our massive 109 mm (4.28”) turbo inlet pipe. The inlet pipe, which is often overlooked, is typically one of the most restrictive parts of the inlet system. We’ve improved upon this greatly. The cross-sectional area of our system is 99% larger than the factory at the airbox! It connects to the airbox with only a single hose clamp with no need for silicone couplers and adapter. This makes the install simple, and gives the system a very clean and professional look.</p>

<p>Next airflow is directed straight through the intake filter without any initial turns or bends after the filter. The most ideal airpath for maximum performance is a straight through pipe. While not always possible in all situations, every consideration was made to make this system as straight as possible to promote performance. The flow path was optimized with CFD to minimize pressure drop and turbulence within the controlled space. Even the flex section is integrated to allow for necessary movement with low profile ridges for minimal disruption. The system gradually necks down to the turbo inlet adapter. The pipe is oversized to allow for swapping inlet adapters for larger ones in the future for larger turbocharger setups. Once again a single clamp connects to two without any silicone adapters for a clean and easy install with less possibilities for leaks. The turbo inlet adapter features an ideal entrance into the turbocharger and port matches to turbo to prevent any disruptive airflow. Furthermore, unlike the factory inlets pipes, there are no sharp and disruptive bends directly before the turbocharger.</p>

<p>Simply put, this is the ultimate upgrade. We engineered our intake system as a full system because any system that’s designed to connect to any of the factory parts, from the airbox, to the turbo inlet pipe, or the turbo inlet adapter, will have sacrifices in airflow and performance. This is because the system will need to neck down to smaller diameters, or make sharp and harsh airflow disrupting bends.</p>

<h2 class="title">Performance Gains</h2>
<p>To increase power on an intake system you must reduce pressure drop and increase airflow through the system. This allows the turbocharger to work less hard to product the same power, and in the case of many setups this frees up headroom so the turbo can pull in more air and make more power.</p>
<p>We tested the system in various configurations on vehicles with the factory Garret (GTI/A3 Platform) Turbo, and the factory Continental (Golf R/S3 Platform) Turbo. Furthermore tests were conducted with the airbox cover both open and closed. The full intake system was used from the frontal inlets all the way to the turbocharger itself. This is the most true test of the system as it will account for the largest restriction point, which is the turbocharger itself. Lastly, all tests were conducted under the same conditions, on the same day, on the same flow bench, at the same depression.</p>

<h2 class="title">Continental (Golf R/S3 Platform) Turbo Setups</h2>
<p>On vehicles with the Continental Turbocharger (Golf R/S3 Platform) and the with our turbo inlet adapter designed for the factory turbocharger we saw a 39% and 43% increase in airflow in closed and open configurations. However, when upgrading the turbocharger and providing an appropriately matched turbo inlet pipe, the numbers increase dramatically to 66% and 80% in a closed and open configuration at the maximum inlet size! On a Stage 1 equipped vehicle with no other hardware changes or tune adjustments to maximize airflow, the vehicle instantly picked up 15 AWHP and 12 AWFT-LBS of torque! These gains will grow dramatically as more performance mods and larger turbocharger setups are added to the equation!</p>

<p>CTS Turbo is proud to release an updated version of our popular F-series BMW B58 3.0L intake for M140i/M240i/340i/440i. Our intake kit is a complete replacement for the OEM system.</p>
<p>The design intent was to create the largest, highest flowing intake on the market.</p>
<p>Starting with a massive 6″ velocity stack air filter, the intake features a 3.5″ aluminum pipe that connects perfectly to the turbo inlet. No restrictions, no problems.</p>
<p>We also added an extra turbo heatshield in order to keep air intake temperatures as low as possible.</p>
<p>Without any extra tuning, peak power gains range from 12 to 20HP (fuel and elevation dependent).</p>
<p>All of the components included in the CTS air intake system work flawlessly together to provide increased horsepower and torque throughout the entire power band and an aggressive race-inspired sound.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are pleased to present the cold air intake system for ‘<strong>RoW’ Market MK7 Golf 1.4TSI with EA211 engine.</strong></p>
<p>The CTS intake system is constructed from T6061 aircraft grade aluminum and offers superior heat dissipation, improved airflow, and cooler intake temperatures.</p>
<p>The CTS air box connects seamlessly to the factory air inlet drawing cool air from outside of the engine bay while deflecting radiant heat from the engine bay.</p>
<p>Improving airflow and reducing intake temperatures increases power, and fuel economy while reducing spool up time. The turbo and the diverter valve sounds become a lot more noticeable and make the car more fun to drive!</p>

<p>The ARM MK7 GTI / GOLF R Intake features a <strong>class-leading 4&#8243; inlet size at the air filter to maximize airflow</strong> for even the most demanding builds.  The ARM intake tube is built as a <strong>single piece of 6-layer reinforced silicone</strong> for a seamless transition to the 2.75&#8243; stock turbo inlet or the <a title="ARM MQB TURBO INLET" href="https://www.armmotorsports.com/products/mqb-1-8t-2-0t-turbo-inlet-upgrade">ARM MK7 Turbo Inlet</a>.  The solid construction of the inlet tube allows it to maintain its geometry during the most aggressive driving.</p>

<p>Installation of the ARM MK7 GTI / Golf R Intake will <strong>open up the sound of your turbo and enhance the intake sounds of your 2.0T</strong>.  You can expect to hear significantly increased volume of your turbo spool on acceleration, as well as a very audible venting of air when letting off the throttle.</p>

<p>Included with the ARM MK7 GTI / GOLF R Intake kit is our <strong>heat shield finished in textured black</strong>, and designed to fit the factory air duct perfectly.  This is ideal if you plan to run a modified factory air duct.  The connecting pipe between the air filter and <strong>intake pipe is welded into the heat shield</strong> <strong>to allow for a seamless design, minimizing areas for engine bay heat to sneak past the heat shield</strong>, keeping cool air and engine bay heat separated as much as possible.  The connection pipe has a tap for reinstallation of the factory vacuum line. The heat shield is complete with soft rubber trim around the upper edge to create a snug seal with the hood, minimizing exposure to engine bay heat.</p>

<p><strong>The air filter in the ARM MK7 Intake Kit utilizes an inverted design to maximize surface area.</strong>  Combining the inverted filter design with the massive 5.5&#8243; base gives you <strong>over 300 cubic inches of filter surface area</strong>.</p>
<p>The ARM MK7 Intake comes <strong>complete with an integrated SAI Filter</strong> which installs directly into the heat shield, allowing access to cooler air for the secondary air intake.</p>
