CONSTRUCTION</h1>
<div>The MQB Turbo Inlet is mounted between the turbo compressor housing and the air intake runner tube.  Its purpose is to channel air from the intake tube to the turbocharger.  The ARM Motorsports MQB Turbo Inlet increases airflow to the turbo by maintaining a full 2.75&#8243; diameter from the intake runner to the turbo flange.  This improvement in airflow results in increased turbo sound and faster turbo spool, the best of both worlds on a turbocharged car. The Turbo inlet is made from T6061 Aluminum with a precision CNC machined turbo flange and PCV connection for perfect fitment and ease of installation.</div>

<p style="text-align: center;">The ARM B58 Turbo Inlet improves airflow to the B58&#8217;s turbo by increasing the diameter on the turbo inlet by a massive 25%.  Where the ARM B58 Turbo Inlet is greatly improved over the OEM inlets and many other aftermarket inlets is at the turbo snout connection.  <strong>The ARM B58 Inlet has an inside diameter of 2.5&#8243; at the connection to the turbo snout</strong>, compared to the OEM inlet which is only 2&#8243;.  Also, by removing the sound mufflers, turbulent airflow is smoothed out, allowing it to enter the compressor turbine more uniformly.  The result is faster turbo spool, improved throttle response, and increased power and torque.  The ARM B58 Turbo Inlet comes complete with all of the hardware necessary to reconnect the OEM fittings.</p>

<div style="text-align: center;">The ARM B58 Turbo Inlet starts at the turbo with a CNC machined fitting which utilizes the OEM O-ring to seal, and C-clip to secure at the B58&#8217;s turbo snout.  This is where the ARM B58 Inlet body connects to the turbo fitting.  The ARM B58 Inlet body is made of <strong>6-layer reinforced high-temperature silicone</strong>, and it is constructed to allow for reinstallation of all the OEM fittings. <img decoding="async" src="https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0082/6687/4995/files/B58-turbo-inlet-1_600x600.jpg?v=1702678044" alt="" /></p>
<p>The ARM B58 Inlet Body transitions to 3.75&#8243; ID where the included joining adapter can be used to <strong>connect either the OEM intake or the ARM B58 Intake</strong> which maintains a 3.75&#8243; diameter all the way to the air filter.</p>

<div class="full_description">The APR Turbo Inlet Pipe is an easy-to-install bolt-on upgrade that eliminates a restriction before the turbocharger. Unlike fabricated units on the market today, ours is cast from aluminum, allowing for an organically shaped inlet that transitions gradually over a large distance. Such a design promotes better flow rather than abruptly reducing at the turbocharger&#8217;s inlet like other units. It&#8217;s larger than stock throughout, removes a large internal restriction at the PCV inlet, and outflows the factory unit allowing the turbocharger to operate more efficiently. We fully assemble each unit with a billet securing arm, billet PCV bung and new o-ring. The inlet and outlet are CNC-machined to control tolerances and ensure snug and secure connections. This upgrade is recommended at all stages utilizing an IHI IS12, IS20 or IS38 turbocharger!</div>

<div class="full_description">All too often OEM components must sacrifice various performance minded characteristics in an effort to appeal to a wide variety of customers. While an enthusiast typically wants better boost response and more power, all while hearing the turbocharger breathe, a non-enthusiast may give up these characteristics for a quieter ride. In the case of the factory IHI turbocharger, a turbo muffler, or Pulsations-schalldämpfer, is positioned at the compressor outlet and is designed to reduce engine bay acoustics. The APR Turbo Muffler Delete replaces the factory muffler with a straight, uninterrupted piece, CNC-machined from billet aluminum and anodized black. To ensure proper sealing, APR&#8217;s engineers took a two-part approach. A Viton seal is included and forms a seal between the base of the muffler housing and the new piece. With the seal in place and the outer flange installed, the muffler delete tube screws into place, forming a full, uninterrupted path for airflow. APR&#8217;s 2-Piece Design Explained: As is true with all machined parts, it&#8217;s impossible to make all parts the same. In the case of the turbo muffler housing, the distance between the bottom and top of the muffler&#8217;s housing will vary from turbo to turbo. The acceptable measurement range is known as a tolerance. The nominal distance between the top and bottom of the turbo muffler&#8217;s mounting points is roughly 51 mm. The tolerance on this part can be as loose as +/- .5mm or more. This means some muffler housings will be up to 51.5mm tall, or as low as 49.5mm tall. Since the distance between the top and bottom of the muffler chamber will be different on every turbo, a 1-piece turbo muffler delete will always be either too tall or too short. On systems that are too tall, the delete will touch the bottom but will not touch the top mounting point, creating an imperfect seal and potential for a boost leak. If the part is too short, the system will seal at the top, but will leave a small gap at the bottom, thus negating the purpose of the part as illustrated in the diagram below. APR&#8217;s 2-piece design solves this issue with an adjustable height design. While a 2-piece design is more difficult and expensive to manufacture, it&#8217;s the only way to ensure an accurate fit and perfect seal. APR provides a Viton seal that&#8217;s placed at the bottom of the muffler housing. The muffler cover is then installed forming a seal with the factory gasket. Then, the center tube is inserted and screwed into place to the desired depth, compressing against the Viton seal to ensure a leak proof seal in every scenario. Finally Tension from the seal prevents the tube from coming loose, and the included Loctite provides extra security from movement. With the turbo muffler deleted, the APR design provides a smooth, turbulence free, and leak proof path for airflow existing the turbo!</div>

<p>The biggest issue with the restrictive factory inlet is apparent when you start to increase the power. Our engineers designed the turbo inlet to be as large as possible; yet still fit perfectly. This was accomplished using the latest in 3D scanning and rapid prototyping technology.</p>
<p>The larger inlet will provide increased flow to the turbo and make sure the engine has all the air that it needs to operate at maximum capacity!</p>
